Origen Tostadores de Café, Lima

Origen Tostadores de Café is a specialty coffee project that has been consistently operating since 2013. It started in Pueblo Libre and, over time, expanded to districts such as Surquillo and Magdalena. Today, it operates locations in Pueblo Libre, Surquillo, and Lince, with a clear focus on coffee from origin.

Roasting is a central part of the project. Coffee is roasted in Pueblo Libre, usually on Saturdays, allowing full control over roast profiles and consistency. Origen works mainly with Peruvian coffees from regions such as Amazonas and Ayacucho, and occasionally includes coffees from Cusco. The selection changes every year based on harvest and availability, and new farms are regularly added to the portfolio.

In addition to its core lineup, Origen offers special filter coffees: lots with distinct processes released as limited editions and available for a short time. These coffees are intended for manual brewing methods and for those looking for specific flavor profiles.

Origen also takes part in national and international competitions and operates a small lab where coffees are tested and adjusted. This ongoing work has led to international recognition, including being ranked among the world’s 100 best coffee shops after customer nominations.

The spaces are pet friendly, with Star Wars references appearing in the decor and on some packaging.
